Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana Sales Yearling Invited To Be Eligible for Two New Stakes Races at Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino
(New Orleans, La.) – The Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana announced that it has been extended an invitation from Evangeline Downs Racetrack and Casino to have yearlings sold through the 2015 Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana Yearling Sale to be eligible for two new stakes races that will be added to the stakes schedule at Evangeline Downs for the 2017 season. The races will be restricted to Three-Year-Olds that have been sold at either Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana Yearling Sale or any Equine Sales Company of Louisiana Sale beginning with the 2015 sales. These new races will not be restricted to Louisiana Breds. The inaugural running of each race will be in 2017. Each race will offer a purse of $75,000 with one race for Fillies and the other for Colts & Geldings. The dates and conditions are yet to be announced.

The BSCOL would also like to remind all buyers that any Louisiana Bred that passes through the sales ring at the 2015 Annual Yearling Sale is eligible to race in the A.L. Red Erwin Memorial Stakes or the Elge Rasberry Memorial Stakes which are currently run at Louisiana Downs in the late summer or early fall of their 3YO year. The Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana Inc. (BSCOL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association (LTBA).
