Jasmine Daniels is an assistant trainer at New Orleans Fairgrounds. On the morning of December 23, 2014, Jasmine was injured when the horse she was riding stumbled and fell, rolling on top of her. Jasmine underwent surgery on Christmas Eve at Tulane Medical Center to repair fractured vertebra and assess damage to her spinal cord. During the surgery it was ascertained that her spinal cord was not severed, as originally thought. However, the spinal cord was heavily traumatized and needs time to heal. At this time, Jasmine is paralyzed from her waist down; however, we believe that God is not done yet and we pray for full recovery. Jasmine needs extensive, costly rehab. On January 2, 2014 she was medically transported to Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital in Nashville, TN to begin her lengthy rehab. Jasmine is a fighter and if anyone can recover from this we believe that she can!
This is our chance to help Jasmine in her fight to overcome what is hopefully a bump in the road. If your know Jasmine, you know she is as tough as they come; but tough or not, she needs our help to overcome this huge financial burden ahead of her. This is what we horsemen do. We take care of each other when a helping hand is needed.
There will be a silent and a live auction, a 50/50 raffle and whiskey barrel raffles.
All proceeds raised will go directly to Jasmine.
Please make all checks payable to Jasmine Daniels.

Steven Albert “Steve” Lenard Obituary
Steven Albert ‘Steve’ Lenard, surrounded by his family, passed away on Thursday February 12, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer.Steve was born on August 31, 1951, in Monroe, LA to William Prentice Sr. and Dorothy Robinson Lenard. He spent his childhood in Natchitoches, LA, attended Natchitoches Central High School and was an integral part in helping his family to establish one of the first and most successful A&W Drive-In restaurants in Louisiana. After graduation he followed a passion, learned from his father, for training thoroughbred racehorses. This profession would take him as far away as Detroit and Boston and bring him as close as Shreveport and Lafayette, but home was always Swartz, LA or better known to those closest as The Farm. He retired from The Sport in 1995 and returned home where he raised beef cattle, baled hay and touching back on his childhood experiences, began a small family owned restaurant. Many who read this will remember that big smile and wave from the kitchen of Lenard’s Homecookin’.
Steve is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna; son, Allen P. Lenard; daughter, Lynette; mother, Dorothy Robinson Lenard; aunt, Norma Lyles; brother William Prentice ‘Pete’ Lenard Jr. and wife Jan; sister, Paula Michelle ‘Mitch’ Lenard; niece Laura Leigh Lenard; 3 grandchildren, Sadi, Makin and Hannah and his close friends, H. B. Johnson Jr., Tush Spence and his brothers, Charles Hogan, Bob Smith, Lynn Soileau, Joe Duhon, Gerard Melancon, C.A Lowe and James Cook.
